Kentucky Natural Lands Trust (KNLT) is a nonprofit conservation organization working to secure funds to protect natural lands and provide for their long-term stewardship. KNLT seeks to serve as a resource and partner to other land trusts and conservation groups throughout Kentucky.

KNLT was formed in 1995 to raise funds to purchase the tracts of old growth forest that are the core of Blanton Forest as well as second growth forest that surrounds the old growth tracts. Our current focus is the Pine Mountain Legacy Project, one of the largest landscape level protection projects ever undertaken in Kentucky. The project area spans five Kentucky counties and part of Virginia, covering a distance of about 110 miles and an area of over 151,000 acres.
