Established in 1995, we are a state-wide land trust with a mission to protect, restore and connect Kentucky's remaining wildlands. We do this through the direct purchase of land, purchase of conservation easements and by working with other conservation partners.

KNLT was initially established to protect Blanton Forest on Pine Mountain, the largest old-growth forest remaining in the state. Our tremendously successful campaign resulted in the purchase and establishment of the forest as a state nature preserve.

Our efforts have expanded into a variety of conservation projects across the state and currently include the Pine Mountain Wildlife Corridor, the largest landscape level project ever undertaken in the state. Through partnerships with government agencies, nonprofits, corporations and private individuals we have protected thousands of acres of wildlands.
